A new journey in Dr. Ahmed Farid’s artistic career; a journey where he continues his search for human nature in his most recent exhibition displayed at Picasso Art Gallery, “Gate of the Soul.” He wanders inside people’s lives through the main gate to their souls, the eyes, to discover their relation with the universe and how connected and reflective they are. In his previous experiences, the eyes changed and were not locked up as in his past artworks. The energy was not hidden but rather explosive in some paintings. However, in his recent exhibition, vivid colors have emerged as well as communication among the artwork’s main characters and elements.
He emphasises through this exhibition of his vision throughout his career that the eyes are the gate of the soul. Still, the eyes surpass the space of their owners, but this time to communicate with the universe and force heads to look towards the unknown. Maybe it is a preparedness phase or a movement towards the liberation of spirits from monotony and restrictions.
The new, vivid colour choices in the Gate of the Soul project are an additional way to further express the mood of Ahmed Farid’s characters. The warm colours have a lot of psychological signs, most of which are the inner energy looking for a means to escape. Sometimes it just gets imprisoned, and other times it explodes outside in a tornado of red. Despite all this energy and power, there is an overall feeling of poise, which showcases the strength of the design.
Gate of the Soul is another small gate that Ahmed Farid opens to his huge world, a new episode in exploring the relation between human nature and the universe.
