El-Dewihi grew interested in sculpting after finding the works of the late artist Adam Hanin, and he became one of his closest disciples, learning from his knowledge. His birthplace is Aswan in Upper Egypt, which served as his primary inspiration for sculpting, as he followed in the footsteps of his ancestors and began to work with black granite, which he fell in love with despite the difficulty of forming this material. El-Dewihi’s straight and smooth lines come to reveal the departure from the past and its extension for centuries As if immortal.
