Mohamed Abdel Wahab starred in and produced his third movie in 1938, with Laila Murad playing the lead role! In her first appearance on the cinema screen, the title of the film was “Yahya Al-Hob.”
Today, after more than sixty years, we return to say…We chant, “Long live love!” And this time we say it in the face of hatred, truth, violence, ugliness, and war, and also against all of which we suffer.
About the Artist
Helmi was born in 1934 and he is one of the Arab World’s best book cover illustrators and graphic designers.
He studied art at The Faculty of Fine Arts, Cairo, and holds a BA degree in theatrical design and painting. He has been involved in a variety of visual and fine arts activities, including publishing, puppet design for the puppet theater, and the development of national furniture patterns.
He has written and illustrated several children’s books published by UN organizations in many languages. Helmi received various Arab and international awards, such as the Leipzig International Fair medal.
He’s also held many solo exhibitions in most Arab countries and participated in many international group exhibitions. His works are characterized by symbolism inspired by folkloric and mythological patterns.
