Seif Wanly

Painter

Seif Wanly, born in Alexandria in 1906, was a renowned Egyptian painter whose vibrant depictions of everyday life in Egypt and the captivating performances of local artists continue to captivate audiences around the world.

Wanly honed his artistic skills under the mentorship of the esteemed Italian painter Otorino Becchi. In 1942, he teamed up with his brother Adham Wanly to establish a studio in Alexandria, Egypt, where they created some of their most iconic works of art.
Thanks to their groundbreaking efforts, the Wanly brothers are often credited with bringing a newfound appreciation of art to the region.
