Salama was born in 1939 in the village of Zawiya Jarwan in Menoufia Governorate, from which he was inspired by many scenes of his paintings about the Egyptian countryside.
He obtained his BA from the Department of Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1963, after which he actively participated until he died in many different exhibitions.During most of his years, he remained very attached to his brush and colors, practicing his love for plastic art.At the beginning of 1982, Salama had a studio in Al-Mosafer Khana Palace, the most archaeological in Al-Gamaliya, in which he was inspired by many of his artworks about our beautiful Islamic monuments.
He participated with other artists in going to paint remote places and distinct environments in the oases of Kharga, Dakhla, and Siwa, and in the cities of Upper Egypt, especially Luxor, and in the Sinai Peninsula in the south and north
He is a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Cairo Atelier of Artists and Writers, and a founding member of the Al-Ghoury Artists Association, and has many artistic writings, whether through journalistic work or books, and he had many artistic participations, whether in private or group exhibitions.
