The idea for this exhibition came through a process of discovery over the years. Trying new themes and ideas eventually led to a need to express much more through my paintings in order to convey certain feelings to those that view my art. I want people to realise how important it is to count their blessings. Too often in life, we find ourselves fixated on the many problems around us that we forget to be thankful for the many blessings that surround us: The freedom to be able to do the things that make us happy is truly a blessing. Having friends and family to share compassion and love with is also a blessing. The ability to read books and experience music and dance and visual arts is a gift which feeds our souls and something we should cherish. Day by day we pass by the beauty of nature, and yet we manage to take for granted the smell of flowers, the warm Egyptian sun and the serene sound of birds chirping. I feel bad for the people who can’t seem to see the good in life. May we all be blessed with health and happiness always, and the ability to appreciate and count our blessings.
