Refaat Ahmed

Refaat Ahmed (1931–2012) was a renowned Egyptian artist celebrated for his dedication to the arts and his profound creative journey. After completing independent art studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in 1959, he became a member of the Fine Artists Syndicate. Early in his career, he worked in the railway industry and later contributed to Egyptian television, before fully immersing himself in his artistic passion.

Over the course of his career, Ahmed held 17 solo exhibitions in Egypt, earning national recognition, while also gaining international acclaim with exhibitions in Syria, Yugoslavia, Paris, Dakar, and Iraq. His art reflects a unique blend of technical skill and cultural expression, making him a significant figure in Egypt’s modern art movement.
