Tayseer Hamed, born in Cairo in 1955, is a leading force in Egypt’s contemporary art movement. Since earning his degree from the Faculty of Applied Arts in 1978, he has spent over three decades refining a unique artistic language that resonates with both heritage and modernity.
Through numerous solo exhibitions across Cairo, Dubai, and Doha, Hamed has built a strong connection with collectors and art enthusiasts. His signature approach—defined by bold experimentation with color and texture—reflects a deep engagement with Egyptian culture and folklore. Each canvas is a layered tapestry of tradition, reimagined through a contemporary lens.
His work has been prominently featured in renowned institutions, including the Cairo Opera House, the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art, and the Saad el Khadem & Effat Nagui Museum. His pieces also hold a place in prestigious private and public collections, notably the Cairo Museum of Modern Art.
