Yassin Harraz, an Egyptian visual artist and lecturer in the Painting Department at Alexandria University, has been shaping the local art scene since 1997. With a background in calligraphy, he seamlessly blends traditional and contemporary techniques to create expressive works inspired by Egypt’s landscapes and cultural heritage.
His paintings capture the essence of serene lakes and bustling ports, particularly Burullus Lake and Alexandria’s eastern port, juxtaposing tranquil waters with the vibrant energy of fishing communities and daily life.
Harraz has showcased his work in major exhibitions and symposiums, including the National Exhibition, Agenda Exhibition at Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Luxor International Symposium, and Burullus Symposium. His pieces are held in esteemed collections such as Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Ministry of Culture, and Gabel El-Teer Symposium, as well as in private collections worldwide.
