A collection of oil paintings that depict the dreamy anticipation of the artist, the viewer, and the subjects of the paintings themselves. Everyone waits for their dream.

About the Artist

Soraya Fahmy is an Egyptian contemporary artist. she was born in 1968 in Athens, Fahmy traveled the world and has been able to experience unique cultures that expanded her appreciation for art. From Toronto to Rome, Greece to Tunisia, Switzerland to Syria, she has been blessed with unique experiences that have shaped her artistic passions. She has been painting since a young age, and for as long as she can remember, she has been particularly amazed by figures and faces. Her paintings are an emotional response to memory, reminding her of people, places, and times spent with genuine people. Her paintings reflect the soul of the people that intrigued her or who she deeply admired. Painting is very meditative to her but sometimes even frustrating.

She tells stories with her brush with compassion and empathy; slowly, layer by layer the spirit flows magically into the painting. How did the story begin? Who are these people? Something pure and genuine seems to breathe below the layers of her paintings. She is surely embarking on a long beautiful journey and although her footprints might still be sensitive and small, they are of great emotional importance to her and to the ones whose hearts are marked by her paintings.
