A journey through the lives of three of the most prominent women in Egyptian art history. Mostafa El Razzaz examines the lives, hardships, triumphs, and breakthroughs of three notable female painters, Injy Efflatoun, Tahia Halim, and Gazbia Serry, who utilized their work to transmit the zeitgeist of Egyptian war, repression, and prejudice to the world.

The book, the first publication from Picasso’s gallery, sheds light on the technical and artistic abilities of these three female painters. Above all, it is a genuine representation of Egypt at a historical period of conflict and misery, as told by these painters in their own brushstrokes.
