About the Artist
Abdel Ghany’s artistic project has been described as a poetic exploration of memory and nostalgia. His paintings have been seen as“visual poetic rhymes”that revive the warmth of lost moments through everyday objects: ovens, coffeepots, worn shoes, or old tiles, that stir the senses and summon collective memory. Despite the absence of the human figure, life and emotion permeate the works through color, shadow, and texture, transforming the paintings into a mystical attempt to court memory. His exhibitions, such as The Lure of the Past, reveal an innovative use of old Cairene floor tiles and wooden surfaces, combining hyper-realism with philosophical symbolism to create a new visual language in contemporary Egyptian painting. His work challenges convention while remaining deeply rooted in cultural memory, opening fresh pathways for fine art in Egypt
