About the Artist
Salma has been a part of the Egyptian art movement since 1977, participating in general and group exhibits both inside and outside of Egypt. She has held solo exhibitions both in Egypt and abroad.
Professor and former head of the painting department at Helwan University’s Department of Fine Arts from 2006 until 2012. In 1995, she held the position of former Director of Graduate Studies and Research Affairs at Helwan University. Since 2004, she has been a member of the Promotion Committee for professors and assistant professors in the faculties of fine arts and art education. She received her bachelor’s degree in 1975 and her diploma in 1978 in Bucharest, Romania. She also received a PhD in 1982 from the University of Bucharest, Romania.
